MTOBOND-FR is a permanent epoxy adhesive for connecting concrete and FRP laminates inside or outside the structure. This product is able to withstand some moisture before and during hardening, but after hardening it becomes a waterproof layer. The final adhesion strength of this product is higher than the tensile strength of concrete. MTOBOND-FR does not reduce the volume and forms a smooth layer without tension.

Procedure:

Surface preparation:

Clean the surfaces thoroughly. All separated pieces, cement slurry, dust, curing agent, floor hardeners, oil, grease, fat, bitumen or paint should be roughed up. Polished surfaces should be roughened. If there is oil, grease, fat, tar and the like, they should be cleaned before doing other preparation work. All leachates or traffic and broken concrete should be removed or scraped by scarification or sandblasting to obtain a hard surface. The new concrete must be dried to minimize shrinkage and deformation. If the surface of the concrete is saturated with mold oil, it is necessary to remove the entire depth of saturation by sandblasting, scraping and, if necessary, destroying all the contaminated concrete. All processing materials must be cleaned or shaved and the operation must be done on a clean surface free of dust.

Mixing:

Pour all the contents of the smaller container (reactive part) into the larger container (base resin). Mix it completely. To mix, use a hard spatula or a slow drill to get a homogeneous mixture. This process usually takes about three minutes. Do not try to mix or dilute part of it.

Implementation guide:

Up to 80% of the weight of MTOBOND-FR resin should be applied in a uniform layer with the help of a short brush or trowel, or a spatula. It is left for a period of time and then the top coating is applied. This time depends on the working conditions, but it is usually 60 minutes at 25 degrees and 45 minutes at 40 degrees Celsius. During this time, MTOBOND-FR surface should be kept clean. Especially on horizontal surfaces. Saturate the surface of the laminate or FRP fibers with the rest and stick it on the surface. 800 to 1000 grams of adhesive resin or gel will be needed per square meter of FRP.

Because cold weather delays the setting of MTOBOND-FR, try to avoid applying it in cold temperatures as much as possible. Although MTOBOND-FR hardens slowly even at low temperatures. The temperature of +7 to +10 degrees Celsius can be considered as the minimum working temperature so that plating can be done successfully.

Until the MTOBOND-FR is completely dry, the tool can be washed with epoxy thinner.
