A halogen bulb is a filament lamp in which the filament is surrounded by compressed and neutral gases and a small amount of halogen elements such as iodine and bromine. The cycle of halogen lamps which causes the tungsten vapor to be re-deposited on the filament has an important role in extending the life of these lamps. Ordinary lamps are also developed which increase the efficiency of these lamps. These lamps also have special applications in lighting systems because of their smaller size.
